Default HELP! THIS CHICK Need Audi back up and running been sitting for a year.

So I have an 1998 Audi A4 Quattro LOVE MY CAR. Purchased it when my Dad passed away. It has 120k on it have had it since September of 2009 in May of 2011 while driving all of a sudden it started to lag. I am very gentle with this car. I am a female. I need my car back up and running I have numerous Doctors apts, Oncology apts and having just the Yukon is not cutting it for my family.. Replaced the CAT, Coils, etc etc did it all. Even new timing belt. Well you go to start her up and she starts like a champ but the Cat is glowing red and smell of gas! It seems as if to much gas is getting dumped in somewhere. If that even makes sense! What could be going on? I have read about taking the ECU out etc etc could this be whats going on throttle body needs to be reprogrammed? HELP!

I would start with pulling codes. You can do this yourself or at an autozone/advanced auto. Those codes can point you in the right direction. Also what motor do you have? 1.8t or a 2.8?

1.8 Quattro Turbo tiptronic and this is what is happening. Someone responded to another post and asked if I changed all coil packs which was done.. It idles fine as soon as u play with the throttle you can watch the cat turn orange and its brand new and by time u drive it for 5 mins everything is orange and hot and you can smell raw fuel coming out of the tail pipe. any ideas?

You should really do a fuel psi test , check fuel psi regulator for a fuel leaking into intake system , stuck open purge control valve , mass air flow sensor , coolant temp sensor.
The exhaust should not be getting that hot under normal driving unless there is a serious fuel mixture problem.
Also codes & data would be a must for proper diagnoses.
