Default Help! check engine light!! )=

So today when I started my car it started fine for a second and then started to idle like it wanted to die for about 10 seconds. After that it went back to idling normally. But then about 5 seconds after the check engine light started to flash and then stood on. Now its on all the time. Anyone know what happened and how to fix it? When I drove the car it was driving normally. Its a 99.5 A4 with about 160000 miles. Thanks a ton!!!

Scan it for fault codes, we can't really determine what's wrong unless we have more details

Flashing CEL is caused by a misfire. As Leifer said,
have the codes scanned to be sure. Spark plugs
and ignition coils could be at fault.

i would defantely replace the coil packs they are on 35.00 buck each from your dealer and they go bad. If that doesn't fix it take it in and have the dealer chech it out. you also might have to take it in to have the codes earased so your check light will go away.

it could be a coilpack going bad but it could also be that ur car can just had a spoof, it happens every now and then, so i would check the codes, clear them, and see if it comes back again, if not then ur fine. this is assuming your car is running fine now.
