O and does any one know if this kit has a 'relay' because one of my friends that knows his **** says that he has seen eletrical systems fried when after market HID's are turned on without relays.

There was a post a few months ago by a guy who'd put HIDs in his fogs...oddly enough, he put HIDs in the fogs before the lows, but I think he later upgraded both. Anyway, you could probably search for "HID fogs" or something and find it.

scrub up the extra cash for HIDs I love my 6000K McColloch kit. I started with 10000K bulbs, then 8000K, 6000K is by far my favorite because they look sweet and actually provide a lot more lighting on the road.

I know it's a bit off topic but is there any way to tell if a ballast or bulb is going bad other than it flickering/going completely out? I ask because everyone always raves about how amazing HID's are but I have yet to see that in my A4. It came with xenons from the factory and I've replaced them with 6000k bulbs from ebay but I have to say that my old Dakota puts out just about as much light...[:'(] I know how great HIDs can be as they are in my mom's TSX and I would love to have mine be just as good as hers.

So could my ballasts be going bad and not supplying enough power? Bulbs just not providing the light?

No relay, but that is not going to happen anyway.

And no, in fact, HIDs draw less than halogens.
