Headgasket R&R 2.8 12v advise?

Get new bolts and put them in. Everything I've ever seen/done/read says that it's ok to change them and keep the gaskets you already have in there. Long as you don't heat cycle them by starting the engine you can change those bolts, retorque the heads again and continue with your rebuild.

+1 for Chris!!

I droped an EGR bolt down #6 cyl. through the spark plug hole.... i kept telling myself to put the dam plugs in... but no. I can not even begin to explain how angry i am at everything... now im on the search for a magnet. and i feel pretty soon.. some fuses for my brain, as i am now on overload dot dot dot dot dot.

lol i posted a vid of me fishin for the bolt

im goin with the flow now. so far all i needs is valve cover on the pass side an the motor is done.

so far today i managed to flush the radiator, simply with the garden hose, pull out that bolt cut up some good ol vacuum lines and swapped em over..

ok. so washed down the front clip, now im bolting the thing on... dam all these bolts!! which one to choose? theres a couple different sizes but ill see how things go

i need to get a new vc gasket,, somehow my new one has a cut in it..

headlights maybe? just speculating

other than that it looks like your adventure is meeting with much more success than mine!
