Well anyone who can shed light on that let me know. I will do it if need be. a used trans is $750 around here and no guarantee on how long it will work. If I can get away cheaper with new parts then I will do it. If not I could buy a used one and replace the seals and filter but that's a lot of money.

Yea you might want to look into that being that a rebuilt tq converter is going to run you about $500. Was your tranny slipping at all?

Well I bought the car in this condition so I don't really know. I want to fix this car but I would prefer not to replace the trans. I would rather spend $750 fixing this trans than spend $750 on a used trans then find out I need more parts to get back on the road.

I know if you put fluid in the car you can drive it until you lose all the fluid but I only did that to get it off the trailer and in the driveway. I didn't REALLY drive it.

Well my suggestion would be to drop the tranny pan. If you see a lot of gray goop on the magnets you're in trouble. Report back.

I will see if I can do that tomorrow. I have to swap an engine for someone soon. I hate to start this transmission and then he decides he wants me to start this swap. Making money is more important than fixing a car that I don't need. I will pull the pan tomorrow if I have the time and let you know.
