Default Has anyone ever had a problem after resurfacing there dual mass flywheel?

Question in title. I am going to be ordering a clutch soon and need to know this because I have always suspected my fly wheel of being warped but idk is it easy to be too far out to resurface?

At some point it could be bad enough that it cant be resurfaced perfectly flat since only so much material can be removed. Only way to really know is to have it checked.

Southbend offers free resurfacing when buying a clutch and I offer discounted prices on Southbend clutch kits.

Yes as long as they are ordering a SB clutch and the only thing the customer pays for is shipping there/back. I always tell my customers that the best way to do this is to just include a shipping label back so that there are no delays to getting it shipped back out.

Very nice - cuts down on the downtime as well. How does that work though? Do you (or a machine shop near you) do the resurfacing and get paid for it by Southbend, or do you send the flywheel directly to them for resurfacing? I'm curious about the downtime is all for when I eventually need a new setup.

It is sent directly to Southbend. Customer always has the option to do quicker shipping to cut down the actual down time of the car. Problem is that not all machine shops have the right tools to resuface the dual mass flywheel, which is why Southbend offers this service. IIRC this service is about $100 from Southbend without buying a clutch.

I just had a customer that didn't want any down time at all, so he bought a clutch/lwfw and asked to get his stock flywheel resurfaced after it was pulled out. Southbend said that was not a problem and that customer was given a RMA to send in the stock flywheel when he felt like it.

So what would my cost be for a stage 2 clutch 2.8 30v? I will be ordering one in the next week or so. Actually give me the stage 3 cost as well. Tempted to go for a really grippy clutch just cuz of my driving. Oh and do you recommend the graphite or the steel throw-out bearing
