Default Halo head lights

1999 a4 quattro 1.8t

recently purchased some aftermarket headlights (had a busted stock one) that are equipped with Halos. I installed another pin in my headlight plug to power the Halos but have no idea which wire would be an ignition hot wire in the compartment. Any ideas?

You may want to research more on it but the 75x terminal under the knee bolster on the drivers side is hot when the car is on. That is what I hooked my boost gauge light to. I've read about guys who wire up their amps and other stuff to it so it may work for the halos.

McG's suggestion is good...

OR you could look at my signature, notice the Roundel, and think about which cars should and should not have Angel Eyes / Halos.

Thanks, I will try to find the 75x terminal at the knee bolster.

I love the look of BMW's with those lights. I never knew the correct terminology for them, though. Is the official term "Halos" or "Angel Eyes"?

I'm not completely familiar with the Halo headlights but all the ones I have seen were just spliced into the Headlight OR Parking Light power source. If you hook up to the 75x Terminal then as soon as your car turns on the Halos will have power. Unless of course that is what you are going for

You can run them to a toggle switch if you wanted or to your fog lights. I think running to ur fog light then doing the independent fog light mod would be sweet

Angel eyes is the correct term for the ones i have on my Audi lights,Halos are the ones on BMW's.

I think it's ignorant for somone to say a perticular style of lights should not be on an Audi,it's not your car,for a person to trash someone that has a style that you don't like,it's so childish and junveile, everyone has different tastes about what looks good on their car,if i look at another B5 with this or that on it and i don't like it,i would never trash it behind or to his face,i'll simply say,"its not for me or i may even like it but say"its not for me".

I like my Angel eye lights on my B5,i can care less what some stranger on a forum thinks about how it looks on "my" car.

I am not talking about your post jdahlen24,was reffering to the guy with the BMW in his sig..which is really ironic, being he has a BMW for a sig on a Audi forum, yet he is bashing people that have Halo or Angel eye lights on their B5,go figure that one.

I like the look of halos or angel eyes or whatever they are called on b5's. I think they look damn good. If I were to spend money on new headlights tho I would personally do Audi lights with the LEDs. You should get some bluer looking lights too. They look sick with the halos.

I agree with you,i would have gotten the Audi Led lights,if i had not ran into these Angel eyes,i got them for pretty much nothing,i traded them for a $9.00 vag-com cable, couldn't beat that! They were pretty much just sitting around and the guy wasn't doing anything with them so.. when these Angel eyes die on me,i'll go the Audi R8 Led route.
