Default grinding, pulsating noise from rear wheel

Hi everyone,

the wheel bearings have been changed recently on my car. I can't say for sure it may have been there before but after I changed my set of wheels (running 15" ms now) I noticed a noise.

It is a grinding pulsating noise coming from my right back wheel, at higher speeds you can't really hear it, at lower speeds it is very obvious, any ideas what could be causing this? Obviously the pulsation of the sound varies deepening on speed.

any advise is much appreciated
cheers

Sounds brake related.

What kind of shape are your rear brakes in? Does the noise stay on the right rear if you move the whels around?

thanks for your replies.

I will try changing to a different set of wheels tomorrow, when I remowed the wheel on the side where the noise is coming from everything moved smoothly and unrestricted underneath,

Agreed on the brakes, do you have any kind of vibration in the pedal?

Doesn't even have to be a different set of wheels, you can just rotate them. If you get lucky and the vibration follows a particular wheel, you'll know that its the wheel and not the brakes or suspension components.

How many miles since the wheel bearings were changed? I had a rear bearing goes out on me after only 23k miles.

Rear wheel bearings are rather easy. You will hear like a roaring noise while driving... If you listen to dubstep it's a similar wubwubwub
