got new wheel, but have a quick question...
okay so today i picked up a set of B6 17" sport wheels, tires are 235/45, and it seems like they don't fit... does anyone know if i will need spacers for these wheels??
this is the only picture of them i could find...
if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!!!
oh i have a B5 (obviously) with just stock 15"

RE: got new wheel, but have a quick question...
well today when my brother and i went to install them, they were like a paper's distance away from one of the parts in the wheel well... you will have to forgive me for my newbness but i don't know what part it was... and once we took the jack down and rested the tire on the ground the part was touching my tire

Sounds like the tire is too big and rubbing the wheel well?
But with 45-series tires, you shouldn't have a problem with the height of the tires...
Were they rubbing on the top of the wheel well? ...or on the inside (behind the wheel)?
What did the part look like? ...a hose? ...or something else?

it was more like on the inside... the part was some metal piece that went from like the top of the wheel well to behind like the rotor, so something suspension wise

I run 235/45r17's on 17x8s and i have plenty of room between the tire and fender liner cause i'm still on stock suspension
But yeah i know what you mean, i can barely fit my finger between the inner sidewall and the control arms back there. 235's are pretty much the widest you can go without modifying the fender or whatever. but that part of the suspension moves with the wheel and it's never rubbed at all on my car. i am worried a bit though, because i want to put coilovers on my car soon and it seems like my the combination of tire with + 35 offset wheels, i might have some serious tire on sheet metal contact
