that's how I was with those rail bushings. I feel like they'd be an improvement but I just couldn't get them to work at all and kept the stock ones in. it still feels a whole lot less sloppy than stock without them

by the way, on vortex there's a giac chipped aeb ecu for sale for $300 shipped...

 

You can lengthen the groove in the rail bushings to make the c-clips fit, I think I used a Dremel with cutoff wheel to do that.

As for reduction, initially I did 25%, and was very satisfied with that. A couple weeks ago I removed the shifter again (goes a lot faster when your know what you're doing!) and dropped in the 35% setting. Feels even better, especially when you don't wanna move your arm much to go from gear to gear

 

So if you're lazy as **** (and I am) then you want 35% reduction!

Metalman, how is the feel of the shifter compared to stock with the new rail bushings?

 

Hey anyone else with this shifter and pushdown reverse: Does the little metal insert tab thing (alex had to dremel his hole, I slammed it in with grease and a hammer) have to be vertically aligned with the shaft/stick? Mine IS NOT as illustrated here:



I'm gonna get out and test fit stuff, but if someone knows it'd be nice to fix it before I get it all together and find out it doesn't work.

I think we're both confused. I didn't dremel anything that you're showing in that picture.. if you look at the instructions at step 29, the slot that it says to lubricate is what I had to dremel.. step 30 shows why. the push down pin (part f) has to be able to easily move up and down in the slot on the stick. I don't remember what the "front reverse pin" that is in the hole in your picture does

weird. I pushed my stick all the way in and then rotated it until it clicked. It stays in place fine! Hope it works! So you never installed part D or E? (I did E as instructed for push down reverse.)

 

Got a C clip on! File and a knife to expand the slot!

 

I was looking at the instructions for reverse on the left. steps 22-26 are for push down reverse on the lower right under 5th. like step 24 says, yes you use e. I had to dremel the slit where it says "lubricate slot" for the pin (part f) to fit in it. it slides up and down it as you push the shifter down for reverse
