First hope that it will be compatible w/your ecu. THEN hope it will cost less than $200

You'll be loving life if it works out.

Ok, so i sent an email to the dealer closest to me, and they replied back this

"We can install the chip. The cost is $100. You should have the chip and socket. Send us a picture so that we can be sure you have the correct parts.

-TyrolSport"

i dont have the socket, can they sell me one or do i need to buy one elsewhere?

-TyrolSport"

You can get similar or equal results with a speed tuning chip for almost half the cost of a new GIAC chip. http://www.speedtuningusa.com/products/audi.htm

Or you could probably find a used GIAC or APR chipped ecu for about the same cost in the classifieds.... $250ish.

You really don't need to spend $400-$500 for a chip... If I had to do it again, I'd probably go w/speedtuning. Make sure you've got some money left over for a DV upgrade, and do that first, preferably.

hmm that site has 3 different a4 1.8
150hp 170hp or 190hp, i remember my dad reading in my owners manual that it had 170, but to be sure, does it matter which chip u get or do they all do the same for the a4 1.8?

You have 150hp, just like we talked about in a different thread.. (didn't we?)

170hp is for 01 1.8T

190hp must be for the B6 1.8T, but I thought they were 180hp.

Either way youll be in the 200 hp range 240ish tq. after a chip on the 150hp engine. Same for the 170hp engine.
Give them a call to be sure.

Just call them and talk to Oliver, ask a few questions and he'll make sure you get the right flash. I love mine. Good luck.
