[QUOTE=Tweaked;1061277]Less than $400 is tough for a good 17" tire.[QUOTE]

yah thats the problem. I really couldnt give a **** about wet traction or winter traction. these tires will only be used during summer. i got my 15" rims with goodyears on them for winter. i basically wanna know whats the best tires i can get for under $400 shipped to my door for summer performance. plus, are the tires specified any good at all?
o and thanks for the other replies but who makes the ps2's? (and i know, potenza's would be my first choice but im not gonna spend half of what i paid for the car on tires)

yea sorry i didnt specify and yea theyre not at all cheaper i actually think theyre more expensive. a friend of mine has the nexen N3000 tires on his evo. he said they gripped fine and theyve lasted pretty long and i think he said he paid like 400. honestly either way you go (kumho or nexen) you are gonna be ok especially if its just for everyday use with some spirited driving

I'm telling ya - go in Tire Rack and search the reviews for the General Exclaim UHP from Audi drivers... These tires are like 80-90 bucks a piece and are fantastic. I love them and will buy them again.

feels not bad at all. we got shat on the other day (for all you southerners thats snow). didnt perform worth a **** haha but once the roads dried up the ride is just as comfortable as my old good year seasonals. i even did some fairly hard cornering and i couldnt get them to chirp even going 60 round a ninety degree turn. only thing is the bigger rims are a little less forgiving as far as shitty road conditions like pot holes and stuff. o and a little more road noise above 60

I had nexens on my 85 745i and hated them. they had a slow steering response and squealed all the time especialy low speed cornering. I wasn't cornering aggressively and they still did it. I switched back to my kumhos I had before and steering response was restored and no more squealing around corners. Thats my personal eperience although the nexens did look cool.
