Default Going BT soon

So I picked up my 2871r today from an old friend that upgraded. He told me the seals needed to be replace, so im asking is it possible to do because the shaft and bearings are in great shape no play whatsoever. Also im putting on my fmic tomorrow on my k03 until the turbo gets a rebuild. I wanted to know if I could use the stock dv and would i have to use that sensor off the stock smic?

The stock DV will work until you increase the boost. What year is your car? I assume you're talking about the MAP sensor? There should be a bung for that on the plumbing for the FMIC. If there isn't, you'll need to add one.

That car shouldn't have a sensor on the side mount.

Yep, 2001 will have a MAP sensor on the SMIC, your car does not. If there's a hole in the FMIC plumbing for that sensor you can just plug it with something or cut that section of pipe out and replace it with a silicone coupler.

Your DV will be fine up to about 12psi. After that you're gonna want to upgrade to a 710n from the 225TT or a rebuildable metal piston-style DV like an APR R1 or a Forge 007/008

Lemme know if you have any other questions!!

A small bit of boost drop is expected with going to a front mount, but usually less than 1lb. Check all the connections and couplers.

Boost pressure will usually go down with a front mount because of the added volume of the core, but never by 5psi. Sounds like you've got a boost leak my friend! Where are you located? I have a boost leak tester if you'd like it, or you can just build your own.

If you put on a front mount meant for a much larger turbo then you are going to see a decrease in performance when it's used with the stock k03, the turbo may be having a hard time filling the core.
