Default glowing turbo

Ive got a 99 A4 1.8t Quattro and i recently upgraded my ECU with GIAC software and i have come to notice that my Turbo has a slight glow after doing some play time... Is it normal for these things to get that hot?

I am thinking maybe i have a plugged up cat, but the cat is not glowing...

Any ideas? Its still the stock turbo.

yea thats normal after hard driving sessions.. make sure after youre done driving your car that hard, that you pull into your parking spot and let the car idle for a minute-2mins depending how long and hard you were driving to let the oil circulate thru it and cool it down.. youll have a fast turbo life if you just keep running it that hard and shutting the car off immediatley.. also make sure your car is warmed up and the oil temp is up before you start playing around.. will help you keep your turbo running alot longer

You know why I love my 99.5TQM? The 96-99 guys are jealous of my facelift, the 00-01 guys are jealous of my AEB engine code, the 2.8 guys have turbo envy, the FWD guys hate me for my quattro, and the Tip guys wish they could drive like me!

Of course, I'm jealous of everyone else's rides because I'm still completely stock besides my APR chip, APR DV, and NeuSpeed exhaust, but I know I've got excellent potential!

haha very true dude.. however! since im upgrading headlights and facelift fogs.. ill be a little less jealous of your facelift! haha.. and do you have the all red interior dash lights? cause if you dont.. then im not jealous at all anymore =) i love the all red.. and to be honest (as much as i didnt feel this way before i got my car) i really do like the old style stereo setup.. the new one takes up more space which looks a little better.. but i think my facelift envy is almost gone!
