Ok ya true that, but when I put in the stock chip, the check engine light went off. Wouldnt it stay on if it were the coil pack? btw I'll check out getting the right fault code tomorrow most likely.

Sorry, ya that is strange. Where did you get the ecu from and what are the details on it?

it was actually a chipped ECU I got off ebay from someone who posted it here. Here is the item URL if you wanna check it out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=120286615006

It may be that the stock DV spring is opening under boost. This would make a pathway for lost boost back into the intake and cause you to run rich and probably get a misfire. Just a theory. I'd say def pick up a 710N dv and try the chipped ecu again. The correct fault code will help in the meantime.
Another theory is, there have been at least a couple bad "chipped" ECU's circulating on ebay/classifieds throughout the past couple years.

ok so I'm checkin out some DV's, and is the one off neuspeed a good one? I see it says its the same as sold at a dealer, which I may end up doing anyway, but the one off neuspeed is nearly thirty dollars cheaper. I believe it is as said before a Bosche 710N

Yeah 710N, good stuff. The cheaper, the better.
