How do you have money for all this if you're still at the age that you argue with your parents? I don't see how you could afford an S4. How fast do you feel the need to go? Why do you want to sell your car because it's auto? Have you ever even driven stick? Or do you just want it because it's cool and you want to try to impress people that don't know how to drive? From the way you talk, I get the impression that you don't think too hard about your decisions you make with your car. I'm not trying to be so offensive, but that's just what it seems like. It also seems like you don't actually know so much about cars. You tried to convince that a 35mm offset is needed. I can't picture you being ready for an S4 from what I read from you. Why are you buying new wheels in the beginning of winter if you want your stocks for a winter set? Do you even know how much you will be spending to use the new wheels? Wheels, tires, install, alignment, possible hubcentric rings and lug bolts isn't that cheap. If you want 18" tires that will last you a while it's going to be costly. You're going to have to be more careful with potholes and everything with thinner tires. It doesn't take too much to bend a wheel. If you want fast, I think you should spend money on more performance mods and just buy a good used set of wheels and tires if you really want them. The demand for wheels during winter is pretty low, so you should be able to find pretty decent prices from private sales. Check forums other than just AF. For now, I think you should reconsider the Enkeis. Personally, I think they take away some of the classyness of an Audi. I'm sure you could find a different, cheaper set some time by the end of winter that you would like more. Sorry if I ended up sounding offensive, just trying to give advice.

EDIT: Or have you ever considered just painting your wheels? You could get them to look not too bad..

I know they're not the same, but you could do something like that to save a lot of money.

i do know a lot about cars and i can drive stick.. this is my 1st audi, so there is a lot of stuff i still dont know.. if my car were manual.. it would have been bt'd already, and yes i am aware of the cost of wheels tires alignment and that crap.. and its cheaper to buy a set of wheels now, and i know someone who can get me 4 falken tires for 100$ a tire, and with the whole 35mm thing.. im just repeating from what some one else told me from the thread i made in off topic, ive never bought wheels before cause i didnt care much.. now with a better car, i do. and how can i not be ready for an s4 just by not knowing what tire offset i need. money is not an issue with me. if something needs to be done, ill get it done. i mostly diy everything so save something. and yea i do want more power. just with the auto i cant do what i want to. i eventually plan on going to a track and such. next year ill be out of college and getting a full time job. i may not know a lot about cars, but i know enough to figure out whats wrong and get it fixed.

Falken tires are supposed to be cheap. $100 per tire isn't that great of a deal. I see a lot of them for $70-$90. I wasn't just basing the impression that you are not ready for an S4 because of the offset thing. You're older than me, and from a bunch of your posts and even just your grammar you seem too young for one, or at least too young in the Audi family, I don't know. Other people would probably agree.. Maybe not too many from this forum because it's starting to be filled with noobs that don't know anything at all and probably just google searched Audi forums to find this. I have seen elims successfully installed with tip on a B5. Good luck with whatever you do though.

And by the way, offset has pretty much nothing to do with tires. You shouldn't tell someone that they don't know what they are talking about if you aren't even sure that you're correct.

LOL.....calm down children!

of course you can put power through a TIP....what do you think is on the w8's?
not to mention the rs6 (450hp factory.......)

geez, its his car, if he wants 18" enkei wheels he can get them, he just might have to double check the width/offset/backspacing arguement....

i personally think the best thing you can do when looking for wheels is find somebody with the same size/width/stance you want, and ask him what he is running...
again, search, and google are 2 really good friends....

here is some info on offset/backspacing for everybody to read...
