hello guys this is my first post. Im seriously considering an audi a4 2001 5sp quattro 2.8 with 86k. TB and other maintenance has been done at 80k. The dealer asks 6700 for it and he says every tax and everything is included. Should i go for it. The only thing holding me back is that engine...i really wanted the 1.8t for the better mpg...how is the mpg on this car. I still have to go see it and test it. How easy is it to do maintenance yourself on that engine like belt replacements and stuff that you would usually be able to do fairly easily on a 1.8t. Please help me make an informed decision. Any help appreciated

seems to be a pretty good deal. As far as the 1.8T vs. 2.8 debate goes, I have owned both. The v6 doesn't get horrible gas mileage, it's actually about the same as I'm getting now with my chipped 1.8T which is about 26 average (I have a heavy traffic commute in the afternoon).
The main difference I would say is that you cannot modify the drivetrain of the 2.8 so if you're looking to do lots of mods, hold out and find yourself a 1.8T. The v6's are often more reliable (due to lack of forced induction) and they both have similar maintenence costs so it really depends what your needs are.
