Get ABS Sensor out

Get ABS Sensor out
I know have the entire front suspension off and can even access the ABS Sensor from the inside. Before destroying a $100 sensor, I want to tap one more time into the collective brain tank of Audiforum to see if there is a better method than 'wiggle, pull, break'.
With the inside accessible, can I use a punch to hit it?

don't touch it!!!!!
it's a soft aluminum that will dent if you hit it. why do you want to take it out? if it's working, leave it alone. if you're doing wheel bearing, undo the harness and tell the person who's pressing it to leave the sensor alone. used ones will do just fine if you need to replace it though

I tried to wiggle one sensor out, screw drivers, etc. appying lots of force to the end, while turning back and forth with 19mm wrench. Turns, but won't move.
Finally broke it off.
The sensor body itself did not move or turn. Is the cap supposed to come off and the sensor stays in? Or should the entire sensor turn and come out (which is NEVER going to happen).
How about just cutting the wires, and later patch them properly (solder plus shrink tube plus liquid tape/PU for water tight). Are the wires 'special'?
If not: cutting the wires seems by far the best and most cost effective solution (I am already out the money for a new sensor, plus likely have to drill the sensor out!!!!).

The fronts just pop out, the backs are held on with 1 allen bolt each and then pop out.
they are just seized in there. I moved mine side to side (like the minute hand on a clock) and sprayed some wd-40 around em until they popped out.

yes it is possible. we ImTheDevil and i have always done it that way. you've just broken an ABS sensor lol.
for some reason all the ABS sensors are a little differently secured on each car. some have the allen and some don't. not everybody's sensor pops out too lol. had to learn that the hard way even using kroil

Mine didn't have the Allen screw. What the OP is suggesting - tapping it out - actually did work for me on one hub I worked on. Do not use a punch though or you will ruin it. I put a small piece of rubber on the end of a 6" 3/8 drive extension and tapped it out with a hammer, gently. Hit it hard and it's done for.

Well, I tried turning (worked; using a wrench on the plastic head), pushing, pushing, wedging, progressively harder. Taping. head moves, but inside (the sensor) won't turn. At the end (increasing the pushing force) broke off the head. turns our the sensor body itself has moved at all.
I called up the local shop who agreed to press out and in the bearings. He said to take the backseat out (easy) follow wire from the rear wheel well (rubber grommet) into the under seat area. Found the connectors, disconnected, pulled it out. Done both rears.
Front: also found a rubber grommet, pullled it out and there it was: the connector.
Bearings were out and back in an hour later. Now the install starts, and the search for a used ABS sensor.
Got one? Email or PM.
