Default gas tank issues

I am trouble pumping gas into my b5 a4 (99.5 to be exact)

When at the pump it goes for about $1.00 then clicks off and then you have to repeatedly click the pump to get any gas in.

I've looked it up and it could be the carbon (charcoal) canister. My dad thinks I could have a issue with the tank check valve? We aren't sure if a bad carbon canister would produce a CEL but I don't have any CEL's on my car at all.

We're able to get fuel in by using a funnel and a gas container but obviously this won't work well.

Do you hold the nozzle inside the car all the way? Pull it out a few inches. Sometimes if you put it in too far, the fuel can come so fast and gather up inside the tube and once it touches the tip of the nozzle it'll make it shut off.

Doesn't help with my car at all.

Went to a local shop and my buddy took the carbon canister off and tried to get gas, still does it so now we think its an issue with the filler neck.. no idea but this ******* sucks.

so sick of my audi
