yeah that sounds right for both city and highway on the v6. A better intake system will help a tiny bit, but your not going to increase it by a ton.

Seafoaming also helps some, but prepared to change your oil and your spark plugs while you're seafoaming it. It's safe to pour it in the crankcase, just let it run idle for about ~20-25 minutes, then do a quick, easy lap around the block, come back, let it idle for 5 minutes, then do the intake as per:

firstly theirs a search button and this is probably the 2nd or 3rd thread ive seen on MPGs but seems a bit low, stricly city driving i see about 21 average and highway i jump up to almost 35. and this is on teh old 12v motor with 160k. try the seafoam thing and replace vac lines.

I'm getting 22 mpg in my 2.8 Avant with about a 50/50 city/highway mix, so you should be getting around that. Definitely do a search, there're plenty of useful tips on increasing economy in the other related threads. If they're old, you should replace your spark plugs (after seafoaming).

ok great, thanks for the quick reply...my mechanic or local autozone wouldnt do this sea foam for me right? it seems easy but i would rather not do this myself. if they wont do it, is there something else that has the same effect, that they can do? thanks again

Then just pour a can of Seafoam into your gas tank and half a can into your crankcase (where the oil goes) about 30 miles before your next oil change. Have your mechanic change your spark plugs and check the air filter.

you get 35 mpg with your 2.8 v6... i dont think so. a 1.8T at its best can barely get that on the highway.

Check the air pressure in your tires.
