Fuse Box Problems (ABS and Brake Light)
I have a 1999 A4 1.8T Quattro, and i have a problem with the fuse box. I checked recently bc the ABS light and brake light turned on and stayed on. I was told to check the fuse box to see if one of the fuses are blown or missing. It turned out that there was one of the fuses that was connected to the ABS was missing. I replaced the fuse, and i checked if the lights were off.... but they were not off. I went back and looked again at the fuses, and noticed that one of the three fuses that are hooked up too the ABS was lose. I thought it was just not plugged in right, but it wasnt bc not matter what i did to plug it in it would not stay. So i decided to look at the connection between the fuse and the fuse box. It seemed like there was not connect between the fuse and the connection in the fuse box. I dont know how this can be fixed or if it even can be. Any ideas would welcomed.

The connector terminal may have gotten pushed out of the back of the fuse box, I presume. Not sure how easy it is to get behind there. You want to try to find a way to look behind there and see if you see a terminal puished out.
Also, if you get this figured out, you may want to try to reset the lights by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it. Make sure you have your radio code before that though.
how did the fuse become missing though? Were you in the fuse box before? they don't just vanish......maybe the one in the other slot was in the wrong place? but how did it get that way?

Ok thanks i will try that. And for the fuse missing, this was the first time i was in the fuse box, but i am not the original owner of the car, so i am not sure if the original owner played around in the fuse box. i did check to see if the fuse was miss placed in another terminal, by comparing it to the diagram in the owners manual. All the other fuses were there but this one.
Thanks again

In the 1999 A4 there are actually 3 fuses that are connected to the ABS, and those fuses are #7, 16, and 41
In my case fuse #7 was fine, #41 was the one that was missing(fixed by buying new a 25 amp fuse), and #16 is the one the that i am having the problem with
