Default front door speaker replacements

I'm getting some parts ready for a stereo system overhaul in the car.

It has a aftermarket set up currently that needs to go,
old clarion amp 50watts x 2 channels (might be good for something not sure)
and 4 polk audio speakers all connected to the rear amp, the head unit is a old (1997!) clarion as well.

I was looking into getting speakers, i want to spend like $150 ish for a pair but I was told by a few people you need some type of bracket to mount the speakers? The current speakers in my car are really small (3.75 inches) anyone know what I can to get some good 5.25 inch speakers in there?

also is there anything really different from installing in the audi vs a honda or other car? My buddy has installed systems in all of his hondas with ease but we all know those germans like to do things "differently".

I used these on my car:
SAK-1104 Audi A4 2/95+ Front Door speaker adaptors130mm | eBay
Even though they ship from the UK it's still not expensive. The screws they include work great.

I just put 4 inch alpine speakers in there and used the stock speaker frame as a bracket.

I got alpine type s 4 " coaxial speakers from ebay buy it now for like $50. Theyre not bad for 4 " speakers. I cut the top of the speaker frame off of the stock speaker ( It has 3 mounting points for screws, the adaptor that came with the speakers didnt fit at all, and the alpines had 4 mounting points for screws like a square) The speaker came with some foam thats sticky on one side like weather stripping and I put a layer of that on the inside of the stock speaker bracket. Then I slid the alpine speaker into the stock speakers frame which sat in place perfectly because the alpines 4 mounting points stuck out and were holding the alpine to the bracket (if it were circular it would have just fallen out of the circular frame obviously). It would make a lot more sense with pictures.

I was looking at those same speakers. I might just get bigger ones though because I don't plan on putting rear ones in (budget and I've had my car with them off for a few months).

if i buy the adapters SAK-1104 Audi A4 2/95+ Front Door speaker adaptors130mm | eBay would 5 1/4 easily? most likely these Alpine SPS-510 (SPS510) 5.25" 2-Way Type-S Coaxial Car Speakers

Honestly if your gonna get the 5 1/4 speakers than you should get two way component as they are better and i believe 5 1/4 alpine type r speaker are on BIN on Ebay (new in the box) for $150 free shipping. That way you get a new tweeter too and they have better sound quality.
