Default Front Bumpers

My son screwed up the lower half of his front bumper on his 96 A4 Quattro. His air dam was pretty low and essentially ripped off the whole lower half of the front bumper thru the middle of the lower grille openings when he went thru one of those snow piles the plows throw up when they plow cross roads. His car has the pop up headlight washers and most places that carry new front bumpers only carry the ones that don't have the cutouts for the washers with notes that say they will not fit cars with the head light washers. Can the non washer bumper be used if i juct cut new holes in the bumper for the washers, or is there some other physical difference between the two types of bumpers.

the oem b5 a4 front bumpers in america always had headlight washers. did he even like the washers? I disabled (just by unplugging) mine because they never really made anything cleaner... some people even remove the washer caps and fill in the holes because they think it looks nicer. if you want to keep the headlight washers, I don't know of any reason why you wouldn't be able to just cut new holes in the bumper

Thats what I figured, but the catalog for the place that sells the bumpers (Its a local place that sells body parts to body shops) says it won't fit a car with the headlight washers. Maybe I'll just pick one up and see if the holes are the only difference.

Don't know why they would sell a bumper in the US that didn't have holes in it if all the cars in the US are suppossed to have the washers.

if I was in that position I would get the bumper and just disable the headlight washers. they lift and spray when the lights are on and the windshield washer switch is flicked. I've never really seen them successfully clean the headlights at all though.. you should also check to see if the lower grilles fit with the new bumper if it doesn't come with new ones
