Haha yeah I'm called crazy all the time. The car needs nothing, I just want a 2.7/6spd to be honest. Want something quicker, sounds better, can do more to, better low end torque, and a 6spd.
Plan is to either buy a wrecked s4 next summer and swap the motor trans and dif and maybe brakes onto my car and part out the rest (front bumper will go on my car though), and do the 034 STK with a BB5858 .64 .
Or... leave this car how it is and just keep maintaining it and keeping it clean, and save my money and buy a 300zx and build the crap out of it.
Or... both?

I would keep the A4 clean and up-to-date on maintenance, then save your money for the Z. A 2.7tt/6spd swap would be cool but if the A4 is your DD, you're gonna need a second car to do the swap anyway. Let the DD be the DD, buy a 300zx and build that. You'll be able to do it slow, do it right, and have a fun car to drive in the mean time.

Don't quote me on this, but you're going to need the engine, trans, ECU, harness, the entire drive train including axles and differentials, and possibly the steering knuckles, which you would want for the front brake swap if you chose to do that. If you can find a wrecked S4 that got hit in the back or one of the sides and hasn't been picked over yet, you could get all the parts you needed but I have no idea how much it would cost.

Yea that's pretty much as far as I had gotten. Quick research shows I can puck up a low miles wrecked s4 for 3-4k. After I take everything I need, sell my current a4 stuff and part out the rest of the s4 I could see myself breaking even... Probably even giving me a little extra money to refresh what needs to be refreshed when its going in.

Are you keeping in mind you could swap a C5 engine instead of an S4? Might come out a little cheaper, though it might not help you much on parting out an A6
This guy is selling his A6 for $1,000 and he's near you, granted it's an auto. Not sure how much additional labor you'd need to adjust for the manual box.
