In my opinion, people who use the term "tool" are a joke.

Guys.......
Being a newby here does make me realise I have to be carefull
But.........
As far as this discussion is concerned, I think both have a point.
And imho the solution can be very simple, as I did on many cars (other brands) before
Correct me if I am wrong, But I think the bulbs on the fogs are much stronger then the normal tail light bulbs. Just put the weaker or egual bulb in the fogs to match with the normal tail lights.
That way you will not have any confusion ( and yes I also think the stronger foglights used as extra taillights, are not only confusing, but even dangerous for other road users, not to speak about the irritation factor ), you will simply have a twin taillight with no differences in brightness
regards
Luke

I had a more personally practical reason for doing the dual rear fog mod. Simply put, my area of the northeast actually gets that really bad weather where a brighter light is more or sooner visible than a standard bulb, so I have reason to use it. Others who live in a northeastern city built at the convergence of two major rivers can relate.
That being said, it got to be annoying as hell the third time I was pulled over using the rear single fog because the cop, like many people, didn't realize that European cars are configured this way. All fine and good but unlike Joe Average, the cop is in a position to do something about it. Anyone have any idea how tedious it is to have to explain it to someone who would rather give you a ticket for a taillight being burned out because that's what he wants to believe? I said the hell with it and did the mod. No more issues.
