Default Fog light information

new to this so spare me.. i did a forum search too but couldn't find an answer..

what year did the fog lights appear on the b5? i have a 97 and it doesn't have the fog lights. my other question is, are those plastic fog light panels a direct replacement to the plastic grilles on my 97 or is modification required? are there conversion kits available?

thanks

Modification is needed, it has a "facelift" bumper which also happens to have the fog mounts. The fog lights started appearing on 99.5 +. We commonly refer to your model to pre-facelift and the ones with the separate fogs as facelift.

Also for year differences, see here: http://ctny.audiworld.com/mark/a4/diff/

Best thing to do if you do not want to spend money on a new bumper, plus fogs is to contact "Emilgevor" and get his DRL LED Strips which you can install onto your own bumper. His thread is here: https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=167834

Both "ImTheDevil" and I can vouch for Emil, I have bought from him personally and ships real fast. Contact him for pics.

I believe there are fogs on the pre facelifts as well. They r just not "stand alone" they r in the headlight

Correct on all counts. And Emil's LED fogs are stupid bright and look killer. They put out as much light as my HID facelift fogs put out and shine wider as well.

Not to hijack the thread but damn I didn't think it was that much light output!! I can't wait to install mine. Only thing is I'm not sure how the fogs plus drl leds will look. I sure as hell don't want to be rice. I might install and use those instead of the fogs and fogs when absolutely needed on some country backroad or something.... Also you got ACE members up there?
