Fishtailing in the snow?
2000 A4 1.8t Avant
I'm getting inside tire wear on the rears and it fishtails like hell in the snow. Alignment? Anything else I should have looked at? I'm taking it down Mon morn for an alignment check to see. Big O told me its a sports car and it should camber in when sitting on the ground at a stop. It just seems more noticeable than on my previous cars. My friend was behind me this morning and he said it seems that the rear end comes out when i accelerate. Thought I was going to like quattro better than FWD but now I'm not so sure. Thanks for any help and I'll answer any more info if needed.

My friends A4 was fish tailing really bad in the snow so we tightened the lugs on his wheels, his tires all appeared to be inflated, then checked the psi and one was at 0 psi. turns out he had run flats on it and one went bad, so it looked good but really had no air.

Yeah, check your allignment and tire pressure and go from there. This is the first time I've ever heard anyone complain about an AWD car compaired to a FWD. The family car (Pacifica AWD) I can make fishtail in the snow, but only if I punch it on a very slick road, but even then it's very controlled... Never had a problem with my Audi though. Very limited snow driving with it though.
