I've watched that, I just wasn't sure if it was ok in our cars during everyday driving.

It's ok for everyday driving but no real point in it... When do you need to be going so fast that you need to keep the turbo spooling on a turn/break point on surface streets?

Everyday driving, prolly not a good plan. The point of left foot braking is to keep the RPM's up (which, as long as there's still a load on the engine, keeps the turbo spooled up) while braking before/during a turn. Then when you let off the brake you're already making boost and off you go.

Damn you Don, beat me to it lol

Gotcha.

It'd be pointless in my slowered 2.8.

I forgot it keeps the turbo spooling, I watched a youtube video about that while ago.

That's why automatics are usually easier to launch. You get to brake boost unlike those slushbox manuals. Lets spread this conversation across two threads!

A warning to anyone interested in giving left foot breaking a test... Do not go over 5mph your first attempt. You will fail, but how much you fail depends on how fast you're going. Of course do this far away from any cars. And yea we have neutral too

Good luck with your autocross OP!

Slushbox manual? The term slushbox refers to an automatic tranny. Automatics may be easier to launch, but they can't come anywhere close to being as effective as properly launching a manual; especially one with an upgraded clutch.
