Hey airguard, I think going through GIAC is definitely the best way to go. I would be in for this group buy but I have a 5 speed... would I be able to purchase as part of the group? If so I am in.

Wait so why do you want to be in on it? This is for the transmission computer.

It would be worth seeing if they would let you throw that in on the group buy though. good luck.

GIAC does not offer group buys, but AWE should help you out. I can put you in contact with Mike at AWE if you want.

So here's the deal, GIAC makes ECU (computer chips that increase HP and torque). To me this chip, including SpeedTuning and other brands are a waste of money, if you have a 2.8. You really aren't going to notice 10 more horsepower.

GIAC also makes a Tip transmission chip that gives smoother and faster shifts. This software (chip) goes in the Transmission Control Unit (TCU), and can be installed whether you're cars ECU is chipped or stock. The TCU, like the ECU, must be removed and sent into to AWE to be installed. AWE usual offers one day turn around time.

If you could put me in contact with someone that'd be great. So far no one has replied to my emails.

I have a spare TCU for a 2000 A4 for sale. I was going to use it for a tip chip but never got around to it. Now I have a new car and the wife drives the B5, so to hellz with that idea... lol

cheers
