theremostat yeah... but tre's, eh... i just buy the cheap ones and replace them as they break usually once a year. for 15 bucks you can't complain. i've spent 50 each for them and they lasted the same amount of time.. i figure its just the way i drive+condition of the rest of my car that eats them.

just replaced my TRE with FCP bits two months ago and one is already done, ordered another. They felt pretty weak so I'm not surprised.

I buy batteries, fluids, etc at autozone and advance. But I wouldn't buy some chinese-made brake rotors, a MAF or CV shafts there. No way. Same price or cheaper online for much better parts.
To each their own then man. I'll never understand it but if thats what you like to do then go ahead.

It doesn't matter where you buy them from, there are good and bad parts everywhere. When you go to Autozone, Advanced, Napa, O'Reilly, Pep Boys, etc.... don't just grab the cheapest one they have listed. Those will almost always suck. Pay attention to what you are buying and you will be fine. I've been a mechanic for 10 years and buy all my parts from those stores. You try and save money by buying the cheapest you will get exactly that, cheap parts. Just as a test, go into the store and check out what they have. Ask to see the cheapest and most expensive and you will see a huge difference. At least when you go in the store to buy it you can inspect it before hand unlike online where it can be a crap shoot.
