Default Factory Alarm Module Bad

I'm at the end of my rope here. My alarm module is bad. I spent $50 + 25 for rush shipping for a used one, and after being assured it would work, it was the wrong one. The dealer wants 500 for this part. I'm already 180 in for 2 hours of labor. Isnt there anyway I can just disable/bypass this thing. I just wanna get in my car and start it. Right now the only way is to pop start and drive down the street with my alarm going off for 5 mins. 96 a4 2.8.

eBay has heaps of different onesfor $30 to $50. Only hitch is that you need to be sure to get the right one for your car. Best to match the VAG part number. If you already purchased the other one from eBay I would approach the seller for an exchange or refund, as they "assured it would work". Not sure if there is any way to bypass; if you have locked the doors it is armed.
