Default Ez-read 2000

I had a friend let me borrow an ez-read 2000. I tried it out and configured it right but it keeps telling me thats the vehicle is not responding. I dont know if its something I did or the code reader is just crap. If anyone has ever read there codes with this code reader please let me know how and what they did to get it to work.

what is your car doing that you need to read codes? And do you have an aftermarket radio if so thats most likely your problem.

Well first of all my cars gear lights are always lit up no matter what gear its in. It shifts awkwardly and at low rpms. Im not sure about the stereo but its a 6 cd changer in the trunk other then that the stereo seems and looks stock.

take a volt meter and make sure that on the female of the OBDII plug (where it comes out in your car under the drivers console), it has power running to it because these generally are powered by the OBDII port in the car and not by batteries
