exhaust + rain =?
Ok anyone in the Boston area knows it's POURING right now and theres standing water in many places. Just in case anyone thinks I drive through big puddles fast thats wrong. I don't drive through standing water if I can go around it and if I have to go through it I slow way down. So on the way home theres a puddle on the road maybe an inch deep and I have to go through it. I go through at about 25 and all of a sudden my exhaust starts to rattle like crazy. It was rattling the downtube and the area where the clamp is. After a few minutes later the sound went away and it's normal. This happened once in heavy rain a few weeks ago and I've been waiting to see what it does. This also happened when I had my stock exhaust.
Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what it is? It has never made the sound on a dry day and doesn't do it often in the rain either and I know the exhaust is installed properly. My thought is the metal shrunk a little and rattled somewhere. I will get under and make sure the clamp is tight when I get a decent day.
