EPC light is on, glowing red turbo!!! help
heres the deal guys i have a 2001 a4 1.8t tip fwd, just a few days ago, i replaced the coolant flange and the thermostat, in doing the tstat i removed the TB for clearance, i drove the car after wards without a problem, it was runnin better than ever...today i woke up to go test out a b6, jumped in to start it and....epic fail!!! no start after checking for spark fuel and blown fuses, it comes to be that i wasnt getting spark, so then i get bummed out cuz i couldnt find a solution , i leave it alone for a few hours i come back with some hope and i try again, i got it on barely sttrugling but it turned on, i felt the car being liited to very little power, and it would not pass 5k revs, so im cheking around the turbo because i heard a loud spooling noise, i mean obviousley loud, i see that the turbo and the cat are glowing like a lightsaber, at this point im terrified and out of options, and now i got a EPC light....fellas gimme a hand here, im becoming very frustrated with this car and i dont wanna give up on the b5, any help gladly appreciated...

I would double check all the work performed , make sure all connectors have good contact.
You should invest in a scanner that can read codes & data if no problem was found by double checking your work.
Without info it makes it just a guessing game as to what is wrong.

I know this one! Maybe...
Had a similar one happen to me, 1st time it was my air duct right after the air filter box. That time EPC light came on, no power, etc. 2nd time girlfriend hit a dip too hard and sheared off a hose clamp on my intercooler output hose. Hose came off turbos overspooled trying to make boost. Fortunately the computer turned on EPC and limped it home rather than nuking the turbos. New clamp and put the hose back on, fixed. Anyway check your air hoses for cracks, loose fittings, blown hoses.

Well I had a friend come through with the vag com, we ran the throttle body test, along with a full scan of the car, a few small vac leaks from sec air pump, and a dying cat were suspected, but we went further and checked for spark....NO SPARK...AT ALL... ON ALL FOUR CYLINDERS, Wtf maaan I changed all four coils cause they wer due anyway and nothing, I'm baffled over this I don't have any ideas and the vag com is not specific towards fixing this problem if anyone has any feedback please post thanx for the help

check your fuses. Try reseting the car by disconnecting the battery. As for the red hot turbo it is usually a air inlet restriction( in my case with the red hot turbo my air filter was clogged and I replaced it). Nothing happened to mine cause I had good oil addatives been 4 years later and car and turbo are fine.
