Default Engine Overhaul 97 1.8t Q

I cant believe how simple these engines are to work on. I blew my timing belt and bent a few valves, Pistons had minimal damage due to the fact I was at a stop sign. Wet sanded any valve marks from the pistons. New rings, Rod Bearings and Main Bearings. New valves(still waiting for the shop to finish).

I got bored so I decided to do some painting. Did not come out great but I really do not care either.

paint looks pretty good. never seen a blue 1.8 block before. only could have been better if you had taken it completely apart to do it but thats a bit of work. and yea as long as you follow procedure these engines are pretty simple to work on.

Well, I decided to get off my lazy *** and put the engine in. Apparently I did it all right cause it works great and is stronger then ever. So after day 3 I decided to test the old lady out and see what she has. Haha,, big mistake now I need a new turbo. Engine is fine though. I will post it running after the new turbo comes.

haha I was thinking that too, it would probably start to smell pretty bad as the paint started to heat up to crazy temps.
