Default Engine Noise? Video

Sounds like ticking? You can kind of hear it in the video I made. Any ideas what that might be? Sounds like its coming from the rear of the engine like cylinder 3 or 4 area but its hard to tell. Its at operating temperature after a 15 minute drive. Yeah the valve cover is very dirty..... and thats after using degreaser and rags on it...

Ticking from the back of the head is most often tied to the cam chain tensioner.

I vote CCT as well. What do you mean by "isn't as consistent?" Sounds like the frequency of the ticking goes up and down with engine RPM just as it should.

Maybe I should have worded it differently. I mean in other cct videos symtpoms ive seen its louder and always there. It probably is the cct im not disagreeing as much as if it isnt cct then its....?

I have what I am guessing is a cct issue as well. I hate it because my cars sounds like a diesel and if I wanted it to sound like that I would buy a diesel instead. Can it be fixed and if so what will I need? It literally sounds identical to a Toyota 4AGE that the valves need reshimmed (basically having the lash set).

How tough is this job? Dont you just take off the valve cover take out the old tensioner and put in the new one and pull the pin? Like the timing belt tensioner? Or is it different?
