Default Engine Coolant Plug

Hey,

I've been currently doing lots of work on my Audi (timing belt, valve and head gaskets, etc). During this process, I have drained my coolant. My only question so far is, does anyone know how to locate the engine coolant plug to drain the coolant from the engine? I drained as much of the coolant as possible by the radiator plug. I know for a fact that the engine coolant plug is on the drivers side, but I have no clue what it looks like. Does anyone have a good picture that could help me?

Thanks guys.

I have a 1999 Audi A4 2.8L

Hopefully, when I get done with this, I will try to post a DIY article on the valve, head gasket, and timing belt job for the 2.8L with some nice pics : ). So far it's a PITA...but I keep telling myself all the money I am saving which is releaving some of the stress

I also just found out I need to buy the whole tensioner part for the accessory belt cause due to a break which I will post some pics. How this piece broke is insane! [:@]

May I ask, how much did they charge you for the job? Yeah, I was looking to do it sooner, but I just had the time. I figured, it would be a week long job for me to do all that if I do a little bit a day. My trick is to work on it some and rest some to be able to keep my patience...lol.

Ive posted the storyawhile agobut long story short 10k miles ago my timing belt was done they said they replaced tensioner they didnt i was pulling timing andbent my valves...audi would have charged $5600 to do the job (this is also oversized valves light weight parts bored to a 2.0) my price was $3800 (lllllong time customer and they do it on own time)

i figured it would have cost 600 for a new head or about 400-500 to machine it
almost500 for valves(oversized)
150 for timing kit
and prob 1200 to bore it out
plus my own time and no warrenty plus i wouldnt have a loaner (nice 08 2.0t sline) and itll be done in 2 weeks

Darn! That's a harsh story. Well, at least you didn't have to pay full price. I couldn't imagine having that happen to me. That is why I am giving my car a full treat to make sure it treats me right ..... .... I hope. I am lucky that my g/f hasn't yelled at me for spending so much $$$$ on the car and not on her....but at least she will assist me at times with my car...more so that the thing gets fixed so I can focus more attention on her....haha. Gota love relationships
