Default Engine code and low mpg's

alright so i just bought my first audi and i got it pretty cheap, its a 97 1.8t quattro and a 5 speed its also got an MTM chip. so far i love this car but it does need some work. ive done some research but i want to get some input before i start throwing parts at it. so i have a check engine light with a p1136 code (long term fuel additive trim - system bank 1 too lean), its also got a high idle at 1100 rpm's and im getting about 18 mpg which seems really low for that small of an engine..any advice would be awesome.

I'd start with replacing the primary oxygen sensor if it hasn't been replaced recently, and go from there.

well like metalman said, do the primary o2 sensor. also check for vacuum leaks and crankcase ventalation pronlems.

with that many miles, i'd do a heavy TLC on the car, but im kind of a OCD car owner.
