yeh, I wouldn't even try to move it. It would be senseless.
I guess someone missed dv/bov class. The closer to the TB the better the valve functions. It reduces respool time, decrease the chance of surge, and the cooler air has less effect on a diaphram valve (ie 710n).

But. why move DV if a BOV would be a better addition??? I would rather have a open apmosphere BOV by the intake instead of a DV. Kinda pointless? Unless you wanted to recirrculate for some reason?

and reduces spool time......not so much on this car as on others. the stock dv just blows air back in the intake tube at a down-ward angle instead of into the turbo? I don't know about that being so "efficent". seems like it would disrupt the flow of air into the turbo. The open amptophere allows the air on the intake side to be discharged so that the new charged air flows faster and also has no disruption on the shift. ????? so....?????

How would a bov be a better addition? They both do the same thing. Not to mention not everyone wants the attention.

The Audi turbo system is a closed loop system by which all unused boost that is spooled during off throttle and gear shifts must be re-routed within the system; it cannot be vented to the atmosphere due to the dependence on the MAF and ECU to properly read and interpret air flow dynamics within the intake tract. Therefore BOV's (Blow-Off Valves) are not used because they create a rich air/fuel condition (i.e. less air to fuel ratio) which will damage the catalytic converter, create soot on the exhaust pipes, and cause occasional misfiring (due to the purged air) which will result in ECU miscalculated timing adjustments and other errors.

Did you know that ECU's are capable of re-learning?

That is full of bunk when used with a correct bov. I have shown that 100+ times now

BOV's for noise are for ri---- jk I won't finish that.

Audi311, if you do a split, your car can run just fine. Plus, it's not like if you run a BOV on an a4, it'll break within a day. Not even a week. ****, not even within a year will you start to notice things go wrong. It takes a very long time for your car to build up these problems that you're talking of.
