DV / boost gauge question quick
hey - i am looking for an upgraded DV now that i am getting chipped this coming week.
that being said, i think the BOV 'whoosh' sounds are very ricey / annoying (IMO) so im not looking for anything thats going to be very loud, i wouldnt mind a little noise but the full blown whoosh every time i shift would make me insane
SO i was looking into it and see that i can use a 710N DV. i was offered that DV and a SPW boost gauge for $55 . would you recommend this? or should i get something better than a 710N...?
thanks in advance

Sounds like a good deal for the 710N and boost gauge. I posted this in the chip thread... If you're interested in a forge style valve, I'll sell my forge splitter for $140 shipped. I don't use the venting option, and I'd just get an 007 or something.

It gives a subtle woosh when you let off the gas if you chose to set it up for vent instead of 100% recirc, nothing like a regular bov, it vents something like 10%. I'm not a fan of non serviceable/non adjustable DV's like the 710N, but it would work for your needs.

i thought a recommended upgrade to our stock one was the one from the TT, how hard is it to blow?
does anyone use a 710N with their chipped 1.8t? let me know, thanks
***i will have only 91 octane, not 93 if that makes any difference for how much boost or anything. idk

A forge style valve will never break. Thats the main thing. The diaphragm in my 710N tore after about a year of 20psi daily. It should not have, but it did. I personally would not buy one used... But again... $50 for it and a boost gauge is a great deal.

im using a 710N in my GIAC chipped car. its almost been a year. no problems. i'm running about 15psi boost. i would have gone with a forge but i was low on money after getting chipped haha. but i dont regret using the 710N.
make sure you like the look of the boost gauge though. i have a vdo and i like it alot, looks stock.
hope that helps.

Just fwiw, if you decide against this deal, I highly recommend and am a giplantic fan of the APR center vent/vdo gauge. This is after swapping out of the 00, still need to hook up the wiring for the light. It'll look nice when it lights up red
