dump valve issues
new user here, james from gloucester. I have just brought a lovely looking audi a4 sport 1.8T P reg. Straight away i decided to buy a recirc dump valve that i could here.
At first the car ran fine, boosting fine and idling fine. Today its started playing up something rotten! After 2500rpm the car just starts jumping, almost kangarooing. I have heard that the MAF sensor can cause this however due to me just putting this new dump valve on i cant help thinking its something to do with that however why didnt it bring up an issue straight away?
Any help on this issue would be much appreciated

Any flashing cel?
Go get the codes pulled. Its probably misfiring, which has nothing to do with your new bypass valve. But you might check for vacuum leaks too. Do you have a boost gauge or chip, or is it all stock except the dv?

i do believe the car is completely standard except for this new DV. It is an adjustable one and i have read that some have set them to 25 clicks and the cars ran fine, do i need to get it plugged into a diagnostics machine to get the codes pulled or can i do it myself?

It was this exact one, i unfortunately due to working hours dont have time to start tinkering again until the weekend. I will see if i can adjust this valve to 25 clicks later on in the car park and see if that makes a difference, i tryed to do it this morning and and found it was set to 40 clicks however my vaccum pipe that operates the DV has gone brittle and needs replacing so have gota try and get that sorted before i can move the car lol.

i thought i better put my findings on here just incase anyone has a similar issue. I have been using vag com and help me diagnose this fault and in the end am happy to say i have fixed it.
The issue was being caused by the new BOV that i had fitted, i used vag com to look for cyclinder miss fires and there were none, the maf sensor appeared to be reading correctly. But it kept bringing up the error code 00561 which was a mixture addaptation issue if my memory serves me correctly. It also had the word (Mul) in it which i think related to the tick over. The car was really struggling to boost properly and would almost stall when i came off the throttle. When i cleared the code on vagcom the car would run really well for a few miles, then this code would appear again and the car would run pap. Im not totally dis heartened by this whole issue and really should have just taken the new dump valve off straight away, however i think i liked the noise so much that i was hoping it would be something else :-) anyway the audi lives another week, heres to good driving.
Cheers for your comments, no doubt i will break something else again soon
