Default drain plug help

Well i always get my oil changed because im too lazy to do on my own. The mechanic i used to take it to did it numerous times always good job no oil spills or over filling. Last time i got it done from him i dont know if it was him or the car acting up but the drain plug is stuck. It won't come out, and this mechanic moved to another town. So i had to do my last two oil changes on my own through the oil return line and use a toothbrush to completly empty out the bottom of the pan. well good news is this guy is back, i talked to him he said he would get it out, or atleast tempt it seeing it was him last before the problem started. I need to get a new plug and searched the site but can't find the size of the plug for replacement, length and diameter size.

Can someplease give me the replacement size equivalent?

Also for any suggestions on how to get it off without switching the oil pan all togeather. thanks

yeah i had a few people look at it no one could turn it, two mechanics said need new oil pan its not going to come out but you know how they just bs their way for some work. Ill try it out with a bar or something, and i guess hit up the dealership, usually in canada the prices are jacked up a bit higher than normal from what im hearing. 5 dollar plug in the states probably no less than 25 here in canada. thanks for the help guys

I had the same problem, I grabbed ahold of the plug with a decent sized vice grips, to the point where it gouged/tore into the soft metal of the backside of the plug, then I kicked it pretty fu<kin hard

after the old plug came out it was torn to ****, the last retard to touch the car didn't put the washer on!

I went to NAPA and I paid $3 and bought the new plug and washer

I guarantee you can get it out with a breaker bar, which I didn't have at the time [>:]

alright, well, gl!

DO NOT BUY A NEW OIL PAN!

thanks for all the help, now that you mention it i remember when i dropped the car off i had the crush washer but after the change i noticed he forgot to put it on. I think thats what jammed it up. Just to double check with you guys the size of the plug is 26 mil by 1.5?

If the washer was not put on it when last installed its metal against metal and can be bound in there pretty tight. If the head is rounded off try grabbing it with a pipe wrench. Pipe wrench will really hold it good without putting any crush force on it like visegrips or channel locks would.
