Default Downgrading my turbo

so i have a 2001 1.8t with a blown ko3s, seeing as i can't find one for a reasonable price i was wondering what are the down sides of putting on a standard k03 from a 1999. i have a giac chip, but i was thinking my front mount would compensate for the less dense and hotter air. please someone correct me if i'm wrong about this matter (unless you can sell me a k03s for cheap)

the k03s pushes more volume of air compared to a k03, not to mention the fact that it just does more PSI too. Your car will run extremely rich and run like crap.. if you can't find a k03s, a K04 would be a better choice, and is much more compatible (since they're basically identical) than a standard K03. If you slap a K03 on your car, , you'd more likely than not throw a code or two, possibly damage any emissions parts, and you'd loose enough power to return the car to stock levels.. thus negating the $$$ you spent on your GIAC chip. no matter how you look at it, it's not worth it. save more money for a k04, or keep looking for a k03s.

edit- know about the excess in asteriscs, either safari or the forums is doing this, lol can't un-do it without it re-making the mistake after I edit it back to the correct number of them. weird glitch huh?

gpops turn around time is like 4 weeks, i can't go that long with out a car. also my turbo is not rebuildable. and if i'm too cheap to buy a k03s then why would i buy a k04? i'm just asking if anybody knows for a fact that it wouldn't work, and not speculation

The ko3 will be fine. You wont notice any loss or richness. The only difference is the ko3s is a little more efficient. Just do it and you will be fine.

the k03s i've been seeing were like $300-$400 for a high milage one, but the k03 were like 100-200. i killed it by having 100k on it, and driving for 2 months with it being broke. but i know cincytt is pretty well knowledgable on the subject but if a few more people could chime in and tell me it would work i would fell a little better about this issue just to passify myself
