Default Door wont open

Hey, guys I am new to this forum, I recently bought a 96 A4 and a couple weeks after having it my rear passenger door stopped opening. I think it has something to do with lock. Also when I lock press my lock button my driver door wont lock if open is that normal? If someone has any idea in how to get my door open without wreaking it that would be awesome. Thanks

umm take the door panel off, most likely the wire either broke or got disconnected from the lever... and the driver side door only locks from the outside.... or unless u have keyless entry like me lol

I have the same issue with my driver's side rear door. I'm pretty sure it's something with the child safety lock mechanism. After all the fixes I've done for some reason I keep putting this one off.

Like Phil said, pull the panel and start looking around. The panel comes off pretty easy as long as you don't rush.

Happens to my rear doors too. If I leave them unlocked for awhile but don't open them it takes some jimmying to get it. But if I just press the unlock button or do the double key turn to unlock the car, then open the doors they're fine. Doesn't bother me too much.

I had similar symptoms on my '96 and a good lubrication of the lock mechanism fixed it.

Yeah it doesn't open from anyway inside or outside and if I remember I don't think the lock moves or maybe just a little bit, but not all the way I'll try lubing it up tomorrow.
