Default Doing my brakes!

Hey guys,

So I need to all 4 of my brakes. I'm gonna order the parts from ECS tuning I was just wondering what pads/rotors are recommended?

For rotors I'll probably just get the basic OEM ones: Meyle... The slotted or crossed rilled ones will probably just eat up my pads since this is for daily use.

And for pads I was looking at these 3:

EBS Green stuff

Hawk Performance

Hawk Ceramic

The "low dust' ceramic would probably be nice, I hate cleaning off brake dust. Does it work that well? Which ones do you guys recommend?

Thanks a lot.

I just got Schwaben A8 slotted rotors from ECS for $79.95 for the pair....a friggin steal. Do the A8 upgrade when funds are available.

For the most part slotted rotors are supposed to be better than cross-drilled. Regular rotors will do you just fine. ECS sells PBR ceramic brake pads for $61 and change (bought those too) they should do you nicely.

How much would and A8 upgrade run me? I don't really think I need that much stopping power for a stock A4 lol.

Any comments on the pads I mentioned in the first post?

$249.95 for the kit, and like I mentioned, get the Schwaben slotted rotors and PBR ceramic pads and you will notice how much better your car will stop.

I have the EBC Green Stuff pads now and I've chosen to go a different route. They are quiet but the dust is still pretty bad.

Only problem with that is I have stock wheels and I'm pretty sure they are 15s. Need 16s to clear that kit. I need the rear ones done as well. I'm thinking I'll stay stock and use those ceramic pads you,re talking about.

I see, well...its a relatively cheap mod to do once you get some nice shoes for the car. I know Hawks are always said to be good pads, but I can't force myself to pay $100+ for pads. I plan on installing my PBR's next week. I"ll let you know how they feel.
