Default Doing a a4 clutch for the first time

Can anyone give me some pointers or a run through when im doing this clutch. There are always little things that can save frustration and if anyone can kinda guide me through it a little so i have a general idea that would be great. I cant find anything on all data so just wondering before i get into it. Annnd so i have all the right stuff so i can hopefully get it done in a day at my shop. Thanks!

Its pretty straight forward, you do need to hang the engine (or use a jack from the bottom) to hold the engine up while you lower the subframe to gain access to all the bolts on the bell housing. Other than that, remove the starter and go to town. Its as simple as a japanese car, you just have more stuff to remove.

I don't trust machining audi flywheels because they have been known to use softer metals than other manufactures which wears faster, the same applies to audi brake rotors. Audi directly tells us NOT to machine them, so i would replace it.

I did mine about a month ago. The bentley manual is handy to have. For that job it has all the info. I did not have to remove the subframe to remove the bolts for the trans. but enough extensions to make about 3 ft. is needed for the upper bolts(hard to reach). On one of the bottom bolts I had to set a linkage toapply the proper torque.Audi recommends replacing the flywheel and for good reason. The seal around the bearing goes, especially if the clutch has been abused. The springs also break inside. Mine had one of the springs broken, there was lots of meat on the disk but signs of heat on the flywheel. At about $500.00 it is expensive but far more if it has to be redone later. Flywheel bolts had to come from Audi. The after market flywheel I bought was the same manufacturer as what came out. Maybe one dayI will buy a newAudi so I don't have to put up with other peoples screwups. B.
