Does anyones heater do this?
It does this annoying thing where you set the fan blower speed at say the 1st bar. Then after 5 minutes it's jumped up to the 3rd bar by itself. Then after another few minutes it's over half way up the scale.
It's rather annoying as I only want to keep it on the 1st bar (the lowest fan speed) to keep the windows from misting up. But I keep having to press the "down" button after it jumps up a few speeds by itself.
Anyone had this issue? And sorted it? Wondering if I could do it in VAG-COM somehow, but wouldn't know where to start on this issue.
Cheers.

yes. I think it's based on the temp settings. It stays low while the engine warms enough to produce heat then increases its speed once the heat is up enough so that the car temp will reach the set temp quicker. lower the temp and see if it does it as much. It is annoying but put there because so many morons think that if they turn up the blower/fan, the heat will produce quicker. Instead, they get feet/face blown with cold air.

Definately not in Auto mode. I always have the Temp set to the highest (and that stays there) as I want it to clear the windows as quick as possible, and can't be bothered to keep pressing the down button to change the temp down in half degrees to the desired temp so thats why I just leave the fan blower on the 1st bar.
Maybe it's as railrunner says and that the car turns it up automatically when the engine warms.. So maybe I will have to be bothered to urn the temp down a bit! It just takes ages when you want to just drive off in the morning.
