A little too tall unless you feel like cutting the top of the bumper out so the core can stick up thru it. You will also need to remove the AC to get the 3.5" core to fit, I know this because I actually run a Garrett 24 x 10.5" x 3.5" (800hp core) on my car. If you dont plan on making 700-800hp then you are most likely better off getting a smaller core.

The ER Comp fits great behind the S4 bumper and it is a 3" thick core. Has done very well even when making 600chp.

Here is a few pictures showing the 24 x 10.5 x 3.5" Garrett core fmic on my car. This is with no AC and the fmic is pretty much right up against the radiator core.

I plan on getting it up to above 600hp in the future but I guess I'll just go with a 2" deep core (you said that fits behind a stock a4 bumper) for now. Any suggestions on where to find a really good 2 incher?

You can go 3" thick core, but you really want to match the size of the core(hp rating) to the turbo setup you have. When it comes to a FMIC bigger is not always better, you want to go with one that is the same or just slightly larger then the power you plan on making. You would not want to put a 600hp fmic on a 200hp car or a 800hp fmic on a 400hp car.

For kits that are designed for the A4 there is Racetec and Evoms. I was dealing with someone that was looking to do a low priced FMIC for the B5 but it seems he has flaked and I haven't heard from him since Dec.

There are some Ebay FMIC kits that other people have ran, but most of them are universal kits that are not exactly designed for the A4.

damn man the racetec is $900 and evoms is $1000! I'm trying to stay in the low cost range like $500 or less. I'm guessing there aren't any... well looks like I'm going for ebay then. do you think this would be a good core for the a4 bumper, its 2" thick: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...d=200424807874

Go with ebay ($300-$350 shipped), most use Godspeed, custom fit (in my may case for A4 B5). T-clamps. Multilayer silicon connectors.

I have selected 20x6x2.5 or 2.75; 2.5 diameter connector.

To keep turbo lag low, I will go with 2.0 diam pipes.

I have a custom built/optimized K04 and are preparing for GIAC PR16 tune. Currently running on TAP stage 2 chip (9 psi at 2000 rpm, 12 psi at 2400 rpm, 14 psi at 5800 rpm), stock intercooler.

There are

I just went out and measured the clearance between the A/C cooler and the steel bumper reinforcement: it LESS than 2.5 inches !!! I will not cut into the bumper structure.

Do they all tuck it UNDER the steel bumper? Then, there would be plenty of space (just plastic to cut).
