Default DOC_DePalma's Swap Thread

... yeah I've been making probably too many new threads in the interest of the same goal. I apologize lol. So! Here's where I'll be placing my noobish questions and photos of progression (or regression) along the way.

Got the engine put all back together yesterday, all that's left is the new oil pan and its gaskets and Then it's time to bolt the tranny on and drop that ************ back in its body! YAY!!!

Stay tuned for more

I can't seem to find a clutch alignment tool anywhere around me, anybody have any wisdom on this subject? I'd hate to lose another couple days on a 5 dollar part... again.

I'm half tempted to use the one I used on my buddy's Nissan lol

Try it and see if the splines align and mesh and if the tool will fit the pilot bushing. If so, you're in.

Oh and you need to start piling pics in this thread too - the amount of work you're doing should be documented on AF.

Unless your aligning a twin disc clutch, then a deep socket of appropriate size is all you need, 19mm is what I use iirc.

Yeah I ended up buying a "one fits all" type tool, it worked pretty well. I should have lots of pics by now, my camera got stolen. I got a new Iphone today so I'll be able to start documenting what the **** is going down. Thanks for the support though fellas.

Decided to put tranny in the car followed by the engine, but can't get the input shaft to spline to it's home in the pilot bearing. Are there any tricks I don't know of?
