Hey there fellow Audi enthusiasts!
I just got my almost new 1999 audi a4 quattro after onwing a saab 9000. I parted out the saab 9000 but noone has taken the SAAB intercooler yet. I was wondering if you think the saab 9000 intercooler would be an improvement over the factory side mount? It's 20x15x1.5 so it's a decent size and there looks to be enough room in front of the condenser to run it.
Would it be worthwhile? I even have some of the pressure hose left over.
Maybe put it inline with the factory side mount and have 2 intercoolers. That would mean not having to change much of anything, just some hoses.
What do you all think?

hmmmmm, that is an interesting idea, tandem intercoolers... mabye a significant pressure drop is the only thing I can think of, and it's thin enough, you probably won't have to cut the bumper. Let us know how this goes, I'm curious.

Well, the pressure drop is what I was concerned about actually. I was wondering if folks have tried this out to see if pressure loss is significant.
Maybe a better idea would be the "vent mod" for the fenderwells and a leftover pusher electric fan mounted over the intercooler. Just increase the OEM intercooler efficiency.
I want to run a GIAC chip with this new kO3S (dealer replaced the turbo and put a ko3s on it) but I dont want to heat soak the entire works.

A K03S with a GIAC chip should be fine with the stock intercooler. A FMIC will help your cause, but unless you go with something larger than a K03, you should be fine.
